Healthy eyes start right with the food that goes from your plate to your mouth. Pay attention to getting the right kinds of vitamins and minerals for your vision; lutein, zinc, omega-3 fatty acids and Vitamins C and E are all essential for healthy eyes. Green leafy veggies, salmon and other fish, eggs, nuts, beans and oranges and citrus fruits are all especially good for your vision. Take computer breaks

If you stare at a computer screen all day for work, you might be straining your eyes and compromising their health down the line. Staring at the computer screen for too long can cause blurry vision, dry eyes, headaches and all sorts of other problems related to eyestrain. To combat some of these problems, position your computer so your eyes are level with the top of the screen. This way, you can look down on it and not face such direct glare. Rest your eyes every 20 minutes by looking 20 feet away for 20 seconds. And every couple of hours, give yourself at least a 15-minute break.
