No doubt you are simply overwhelmed with the flood of information about healthy eating and healthy lifestyles. It has become so inundating, it’s almost easier to crawl in a corner and deny all of it. It’s becoming increasingly difficult to discern truth from myth.  The easiest way to do this, is to rely on your own common sense. While our food production has changed dramatically in the last decades and our lifestyles have become alarmingly sedentary, you can overcome these trends with a few simple changes to your lifestyle and daily routine.  Remember, changing your lifestyle to become a healthier individual is as much attitude as action. Get out of your chair, off the sofa and put your walking shoes on.  Walking is the easiest, most flexible and cheapest way to develop a healthy lifestyle.  The benefits of developing a healthy waking regime will begin to spill over into other areas of your life.  If you’re not comfortable with gyms or fitness clubs, by all means saving them for rainy days or super cold, windy weather. Make a simple commitment to walk fifteen minutes a day for one week. You’ll be amazed at the changes in your stamina after just one week. Enlist a buddy, walk your dog, or offer to walk a neighbor’s dog.  Park at the opposite end of the parking lot, take the stairs and seek out ways to add additional steps in your day. Your body will begin to crave daily exercise.  After one week, ramp up your regime to just twenty minutes of walking per day.  You’ll soon see how small differences can make a huge impact.  Within a month, you should be walking 45 minutes five to six times per week. Begin to focus on increasing your speed, distance and duration. Vary your routes from the neighborhood to local parks. Boredom is the quickest killer of any walking regime.
